On Saturday 21st April 2007 the Society took part in the Weston-super-Mare Trams, Trains & Buses exhibition, held at Corpus Christi Church Hall in Weston, close to the Sea Front, from 1030-1630.

This exhibition was organised by The Tramways and Light Railway Society and was intended to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the last Weston tram along the Sea Front.

The Society presented a large photographic display of A4 -sized colour photos, principally taken by member Ian Chancellor, along with an electronic slide show on PC monitor and laptop, all showing photos of trains around Weston in the last seventy years.

Considerable interest was shown in the display by visitors to the exhibition, with Society members Peter Carr, John Mayhew, Mike Kellaway- Marriott, Ian Chancellor and Tim Henwood on hand at the society stand to answer question and chat with visitors.

It was particularly fitting that the Society display was next to a fascinating display and model layout by the WsM Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Railway Society, which included models, photos and archive material of Weston's "other" railway.

More details about this intriguing railway, and the WCPLR society, can be found on their excellent website by clicking here:

Other attractions at the exhibition included working model trams, model trains including a large layout featuring Williton station, Model buses, an exhibition about the Clifton Rocks Railway, plus other memorabilia and photo displays. The day was a great success, and the society is most grateful to Keith Walton for the opportunity to participate.
